Smith's Drug Store
142 East Main Street
Spartanburg, SC 29306
Smith's Drug Store, located at 142 East Main Street, has been in business in downtown Spartanburg since 1930 and David Smith has owned the store since 1977. Smith's is the oldest drug store still in operation in Spartanburg.
Come in for a visit. The employees welcome you and are eager to help you and make you feel at home. If they don't have what you need, they can have it there the next day.
Visiting this store is like going to a museum: David will take you on a tour and tell you all about the prints hanging on the walls. There are prints of the cotton mills of Spartanburg and of workers in a peach orchard and folks hanging out at Rainbow Lake 50 years ago. I loved the Morgan Square photos - one taken in around 1900 and the other in the 1940's. It was a treat to be there and CVS is going to miss me.
David also owns Smith's Drugs #2 on East Henry Street and has over 20 employees working in the two locations.
