Did you know that any photo printed today lasts longer than the hard drive it is stored on? Mike Wojcik knows this and just about everything else there is to know about photography - and the new Spartan Photo Center is a photographer's paradise. Professionals and amateurs can enjoy the vast array of equipment and services they have to offer. Mike opened Spartanburg Photographic Center in the Pinewood Shopping Center in 1985 with his family. Four years ago, Mike purchased the business back from his family and renamed it Spartan Photo Center, Inc. In June, 2009, he relocated to his new building on East St. John Street, next to Papa's Breakfast Nook in Downtown Spartanburg. Spartan Photo Center employs a staff of 9 and Mike's wife Amy, a photographer herself, helps at the store from time to time. A portion of the store is devoted to distributing tripod parts all over the US - visit the website TripodQuickRelease.com or BogenTripodParts.com

Of course there are cameras for sale - of every type and lenses, flashes, printers, photo paper, ink and many other accessories.

A photo studio will open by the end of October and be available to rent for photo-shoots for photographers that do not have their own studios or for the high-end amateur in need of special equipment (also available to rent). The studio will also be used for photography classes and passport photos. A seminar on Westcot lighting techniques will be held there on November 5th.

In the back is the lab where photos are printed in every size imaginable, from tiny locket photos to 30x60 inch poster sizes and larger and photo albums and frames are available to compliment every photo.

Both adults and children will enjoy spending time at the Digital Photo Bar. Enjoy a cup of coffee, tea or cocoa while creating your own photo books, coffee table books, t-shirts or mugs and at a very reasonable cost.

Spartan Photo Center, Inc has something to offer everyone - from the professional photographer to children just starting to discover the many ways to enjoy photography. Stop in and browse - bring your old VHS tapes in and have them converted to DVD's and see what the latest photography equipment is available. Spartan Photo is open Monday through Saturday from 9am to 5pm.
