Nita Lawrence had always dreamed of owning her own clothing boutique. After graduating from the University of Michigan with a degree in business, she worked as a buyer and designer in the retail world.

"I always thought I would have a women's clothing boutique, but after my children were born, my focus shifted to kids' clothes. We moved from Boston to Spartanburg over three years ago. There were lines that I used to buy for my children that weren't available here. I was tired of ordering things online so I decided to bring those lines to Spartanburg."

Petit Armoire opened on August 4, 2009 in Downtown Spartanburg. They specialize in contemporary clothing for children. Some of the labels they carry are Tea, Ella Moss, Splendid, and Zutano.

"We are so excited to be a part of downtown and we look forward to many years on Main Street!"
