Hot Eye Photography

Hot Eye Photography owner
Carroll Foster lives in his hometown
of Spartanburg with his wife Iwalani
and two children, Melia and Copland.
He enjoys life in the small city.
Spartanburg is a growing city with
plenty of commercial growth to feed
the needs of his business ultimately
paying for his love of photography and
helping to support his family.
Carroll received his B.A.
in Photography from the Savannah
College of Art and Design. After
completing his study in Savannah,
he enjoyed the company of artists
and photographers during his work
at a fine art studio in Taos, New Mexico.
For almost three years Carroll and his
wife made the southwest their home
enjoying the vast scenery. With skies
that seem to go on forever it was a
perfect place to start a budding career in photography. Having always approached photography as an art first kept it fun,
as well as a challenge.
In 1998 moving back home seemed in
order with the intent of expanding their
family and commercial photography
took the place of art photography.
Carroll began work with a commercial
studio and jumped head first into the
beginnings of the new digital format.
After eight years he opened his own
studio only this time it would combine
technical aspects of commercial and
the creativity of fine art photography.
Since opening in 2006, Hot Eye has
been a success and has opened many
new doors. In 2007 Hub City Writers
Project published Carroll's photography
in a featured book and is currently working
on another. Being self employed has also
given Carroll not only the creative flexibility
in his work, but the flexibility to have
more time with his family which is the
best of both worlds.
Hot Eye is located at 232 Union Street
