In 1984, Chris Stone decided to purchase a business of his own. He looked for an established company as he had no work experience other than in the restaurant business. He found Mr. Woody Fogle who was ready to retire from the lighting business he was involved with since 1946.

StoneLighting

Chris purchased the company and moved it from its original location on South Pine Street (across from the old Draper plant) to Oakland Avenue when he purchased the former Margaret Taylor Antiques, an upscale antique and interior design store. He worked 12 to 16 hour days and every weekend learning all he could about lighting. After 26 years, he's still learning as the lighting industry changes continuously.
